Birder’s Lounge is Open!

\

I am so excited to finally open up the Lounge and toss out my first post. This is a labor of love and I look forward to contributing to the birding community in this new way. Speaking of new, I am hoping to attend my first bird banding session this morning. I know nothing about bird banding, but I relish the opportunity to learn and to share what I learn with others. One thing I already know, those who volunteer to band birds are a dedicated lot! You should see the information I was given as a sort of “fair warning” before volunteering to help! Early mornings, hot or cold, wet or dry, biting bugs…the banders brave it all. Are there any banders out there? If so, I would love to hear your stories!
