This is the most camouflaged moth I have ever seen! The only way I noticed it was because it moved. I have tried to identify this moth, and even sent the picture off to someone for help…but so far, no luck. Anyone have a guess?
This moth was between 2-3 inches from its head to the tip of its wings. Huge!
It also moved strangely, at least to me. It seemed to lift up with its hind pair of legs, putting daylight between itself and the tree, then take a step or two.
When identifying birds, it is very helpful to know when and where the bird was seen. So, to anyone who can help with identifying this moth, here is a map of the general location:
