Some of you may remember a previous post where I showed the beginning of my “Bird Lounge.” Well, this is how it eventually turned out, after many revisions. You may be wondering if all of these branches in the yard are evidence of one of the recent hurricanes that have swept up through Texas. Nope. My neighbor trimmed his trees and I asked him to toss the branches over the fence!

I’ll tell you straight-up that I have already rebuilt my Bird Lounge since I took this picture. This version was about the best I could do and I just didn’t like it – not natural enough. You can probably guess what I am going to say next…I rebuilt it using tree branches!

As it stands right now, it is mostly finished. I have to say, it is lookin’ good! :-) The birds and squirrels already love it. I’ve seen titmice, chickadees, blue-jays, cardinals, carolina wrens, and yellow warblers. The yellow warblers seem curious, and dash around – but not interested in sunflower seed or peanuts. It’s pretty funny to watch a tufted titmouse fly away with a peanut (in the shell) as big as its head!

I hope to finish the improved version of my Bird Lounge in the next weekend or two. I’ll post pictures of the final version as soon as it is ready!
