Sometimes I see things in photos that aren’t really there…but I have fun with the illusion. Sometimes I take a really bad picture that I decide to keep because it’s fun in a way I hadn’t expected. I have 3 such gems for you – enjoy!

What do you see? I see a lizard with a long, forked tongue – perched on the rocks and looking at me.

This is a picture of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird, believe it or not. Needless to say, this is not what I intended. I almost hit “delete,” but then I saw the streaks of what I knew to be the gnats the hummingbird was after. THAT makes this shot a keeper!

Before I called it a night, I looked up and saw the moon. It was only dusk, but the moon was very bold and clear in the sky. It had never occurred to me to photograph the moon before, but it seemed like the thing to do, and–without any hesitation– I snapped some pictures! When looking up at the moon, I usually see a rabbit – never the “man” in the moon. Looking at this picture…I don’t see the rabbit. I see a river rock, and alternatively, the profile of a pregnant woman.
