  • Babies! Too cute for words.

Bison always give me pause, make me somber even, for I can’t see them without realizing how their vastness and greatness have been diminished severely. It makes me realize they deserve respect and admiration under any circumstances.

    • Again, Jason – I was thinking same as you! Babies, yay!

I held off for a long time on writing a post about bison, because I wanted to learn more about them before I wrote. Seeing them up close and being able to study their photographs exponentially increased my interest. I bought an e-book about bison behavior, and have read maybe half-way through it. Fascinating – it was written by a guy who grew up on a bison range, and whose Ph.D thesis was about bison. It was this late and half-written post, in part, that contributed to my realization that I simply could not maintain the quality of the articles that I normally write. They require time that I simply do not have, and I couldn’t bring myself to half-a$$ it.

The book, btw, is, “American Bison: A Natural History” – Dale F. Lott (Author), Harry W. Greene (Foreword).
