Hi Kristen,

I'm down in the Wimberley area (south of Austin), but I just saw Tx persimmon trees for sale at the local nursery. If you have no luck in your area, I could try to get the supplier info and you could order from them. Let me know if you need the help.

Was looking up horse apples, as I moved to Texas and wanted to learn more about the "apple". I was thrilled to see the Dave Winfield autograph....this Yankee fan appreciated the lesson and with pride loved seeing it as a reference.

Hey Amber, I just discovered your wonderful post as I was writing about Osage Orange trees in NYC. I've referred readers to check out your post. Psage oranges are naturalized citizens of NYC, and found all over the five boroughs. Weird, right? My post is at http://outwalkingthedog.wordpress.com/2011/11/06/the-curious-osage-orange-tree/ .

Wonderful photos. What a landscape. Despite living in Texas for 16 years (before returning to NYC), I only saw a roadrunner once - and it was such a treat!

We had a beautiful yellow garden spider in our window since June. We named her Charlotte!! The three children got to watch her all summer long and we all learned a lot about her. She has laid four large egg sacks!! We are excited to get to see them open up and all the little babies!! A little sad this morning, as we discovered that Charlotte and her web are gone. She has left behind only her eggs.

Hi Cassie - you know, I can't say for sure about the moon - I would have to check the calendar. Glad you like the pics, will get some more up when I can. I'm planning another trip for the end of October, glad to finally be getting outside again!

Hi Dinna - I really enjoyed the park, and they have a really cool, brand-new visitor's center. They have bison roaming the park - I saw one from the parking lot!
